We are very excited to announce a series of events to launch our Rail to Leisure Toolkit in partnership with The Travel Foundation. The Toolkit, ‘Connecting Climate, Community & the Visitor Economy – Opportunities for Community Rail & Destination Partnerships’, aims to provide a practical guide to support collaborative working between Community Rail Partnerships (CRPs), Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and Train Operating Companies (TOCs).
The toolkit has a wealth of practical tips and inspiring real-life case studies to promote closer working relationships between CRP’s and DMO’s. Presented via 2 targeted webinars, one for DMO’s and one for CRP’s, plus an interactive innovation session for a specific region to put the toolkit into action, we hope the events generate new ideas and initiatives to support local visitor economy, put rail at the heart of the solution for sustainable travel and support carbon reduction.
Funded by GWR, Cross Country and supported by Community Rail Network, the toolkit brings specific value to CRPs by encouraging collaboration with DMO’s, in particular when looking at issues like carbon reduction and the role that rail travel can play in supporting sustainable transport. The webinars are free to attend, and speakers include community rail partnerships, tourism bodies and rail operators and highlights existing partnerships already focused on the opportunity ‘rail for leisure’ presents.
