The market town of Dursley, surrounded by hills and nestled on the Cotswold Way, has Walkers are Welcome status; hosting its own walking festival every October. Dursley’s Lantern Way, a 14-mile circular walk, visits the villages of Uley and Coaley and Cam is a new favourite to the long-distance walkers.
Cam Peak and Long Down offer stunning views across the town and further to the Severn Bridge and beyond, with Stinchcombe Hill golf course being described as one of the most scenic in Europe. The town itself offers a bustling farmer’s market every other Saturday as well as the choice of many different cafes.

BERKELEY CASTLE
The Berkeley Castle Estate is a traditional rural Estate extending to approximately 6,000 acres in Gloucestershire’s Berkeley Vale.
​
The Estate comprises a mediaeval Deer Park, a number of farms let to farming tenants (where the families have often been on the land for generations), cottages, offices a hotel and two pubs.
Furthermore, the Estate owns the New Grounds at Slimbridge, where the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust is based, and about five miles of the bed of the River Severn.
SHARPNESS CANAL
The Gloucester & Sharpness canal hosts spectacular views of the Forest of Dean, Severn estuary and The Cotswolds.

The 16 mile stretch of canal can offer the perfect walking day out for the family. Starting at Sharpness, take in the eery boat graveyard before walking a stretch of the canal where you will see unique bridges and architecture along the way.
SLIMBRIDGE WETLAND CENTRE
A short cycle or drive (4 miles) from Cam & Dursley station will bring you closer to nature as you arrive at the Wetland Centre.
This is the perfect day out for bird watchers both expert and beginner. The Wetland centre offers open spaces with full sight of the many birds and creatures such as otters that call Slimbridge home.
BERKELEY
The birthplace of Edward Jenner and where he pioneered the smallpox vaccine. Berekley is a small town to visit on your journey through Cam & Dursley station and you can even visit Dr Jenner's house while you're there.

A trip to Cattle Country is the perfect day out in Berkeley for the kids where they can run off all the energy around the outdoor play equipment and meet the many farm animals!
